Since the 2003 advent of the Sociétés Françaises d'Investissements Immobilièrs Cotées (SIIC), the listed real estate market in France has tripled. With new real estate legislation in place, further SIIC growth is expected. Here are the nine SIICs tracked in the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Global Real Estate Index.

Mercialys’ assets are comprised mainly of shopping centers and self-service restaurants. The company benefits from consistent cash flow thanks to annual rent increases, low vacancy rates and low lease termination rates. The company’s equity market cap was valued at €183 million ($281 million) in June 2008.

The SIIC focuses on the acquisition and retention of high-yielding property assets withlong term leasing agreements. As of 2007, its property portfolio was valued at €1.19 billion ($2.9 billion).
