In the transaction, Boykin transferred its Cleveland Marriott East in Beachwood, OH, in exchange for a double dose of Doubletree hotels: one in San Antonio, TX, and the other, an all-suite hotel, in Southfield, MI.
"Both Boykin Lodging and Hilton recognized that each of these properties could realize more earnings potential if the other company owned it," said Robert W. Boykin, chairman and chief executive officer of Boykin.
Customer Service Guaranteed
United Dominion Realty Trust's policy of guaranteeing customer service garnered the "2000 National Multifamily Customer Service Award for Excellence." The award was presented in February by CEL & Associates, Inc., the nation's largest independent surveyor of the real estate industry, for the category of real estate companies managing 100 or more communities.
This is the second consecutive year United was honored for its service program that guarantees a response to a resident's service request within 48 hours. If the request is not resolved to the resident's satisfaction, the resident may live rent-free until the request is resolved.
"Resident satisfaction is the basis for successful apartment operations," said John Schneider, president and chief operating officer of United Dominion.
