Boston Properties, Inc. (NYSE: BXP) announced that Hilary Spann will succeed John Powers as head of the New York office effective Jan. 1, 2022. Powers has decided to retire in December, after more than eight years of service. Spann will join BXP as an EVP in September.

CyrusOne, Inc. (Nasdaq: CONE) appointed company director David Ferdman, CyrusOne’s co-founder and former CEO, as interim president and CEO. The appointment follows the board separating with Bruce Duncan as president and CEO, and his resignation as a director. 

Healthcare Trust of America, Inc. (NYSE: HTA) named one of its independent directors, Peter Foss, as interim president and CEO.  Scott Peters resigned effective Aug. 2 as a director, chairman of the board, president, and CEO of the company.

INDUS Realty Trust, Inc. (Nasdaq: INDT) said Anthony Galici, EVP and CFO, plans to retire after a 24-year career as the company’s CFO. Galici will continue to serve as EVP and CFO to assist INDUS’s management team with the transition until his retirement on Dec. 31. Jon Clark will join INDUS as EVP to work with Galici prior to his retirement. Clark will assume the additional role of CFO effective on Jan. 1, 2022. Clark joins INDUS from Rockhill Management, LLC.

InvenTrust Properties Corp. appointed Daniel J. (DJ) Busch as CEO upon the retirement of Thomas McGuinness. Busch was appointed as president of InvenTrust in February 2021. He served as EVP, CFO, and treasurer of the company since 2019. Mike Phillips was named as Busch’s successor as CFO and treasurer. 

Karsten Kallevig will join Prologis, Inc. (NYSE: PLD) as managing director, global strategic capital, on Oct. 1. Kallevig will oversee the company’s strategic capital business, which includes 10 co-investment ventures in the U.S., Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Kallevig previously served as Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM’s) chief investment officer for real estate and as CEO of Norges Bank Real Estate Management (NBREM). Most recently, he was special advisor to the CEO of NBIM.

ShopOne Centers REIT Inc. promoted two members of its executive team. Joseph LoParrino, who has served as chief accounting officer since 2018, is now CFO, while Chris Reed, who has held the position of EVP of acquisitions since 2020, is now chief investment officer.

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers (NYSE: SKT) announced the appointment of Virginie Julie Schena as SVP, people and culture. Schena brings over 20 years of experience to the Tanger team, and extensive senior level experience functioning as a business partner in manufacturing, technology, services, leisure, hospitality, and entertainment. Recently, she oversaw 26 operational sites across 17 states and Canada with Merlin Entertainments.

B. Wayne Hughes, co-founder of  Public Storage (NYSE: PSA) and founder of American Homes 4 Rent (NYSE: AMH), passed away on Aug. 18. Hughes was chairman emeritus of Public Storage, a REIT he co-founded in 1972 with Kenneth Volk, Jr. In 2011, he founded American Homes 4 Rent. The single family rental REIT described Hughes as “an iconic and visionary leader in the real estate industry.”
