Stephen Richardson stepped down as co-CEO of Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. (NYSE: ARE) for family and personal reasons. Richardson had served as co-CEO since April 2018 and had previously served as COO from October 2011 to April 2018. He first joined the REIT in 2000.

American Healthcare REIT, Inc. announced the promotion of Gabriel Willhite to COO. Willhite joined American Healthcare Investors, the company’s former sponsor and one of the entities that comprised the tri-party transaction that formed American Healthcare REIT, in 2016 as SVP, assistant general counsel, before being named EVP, general counsel in 2020, and then EVP, general counsel of the newly formed American Healthcare REIT in 2021.

Armada Hoffler Properties (NYSE: AHH) noted that Dennis Gartman—investor, economist, and longtime publisher of The Gartman Letter—has joined the company’s board of directors. He will be the sixth independent member of the board.

Douglas Armer resigned as EVP, capital markets and treasurer, of Blackstone Mortgage Trust , Inc. (NYSE: BXMT). Anthony Marone, Jr. , the company’s CFO, will serve as treasurer following Armer’s departure.

CareTrust REIT, Inc. (NYSE:CTRE) announced the promotion of James Callister from general counsel to EVP. He has been with the company since 2021. Prior to joining CareTrust, Callister worked as a real estate attorney and partner at Sherry Meyerhoff Hanson & Crance LLP and, before that, at O’Melveny & Myers LLP.

Dynex Capital, Inc. (NYSE: DX) said Stephen Benedetti, EVP, CFO, COO, and secretary stepped down from his positions with the company. Robert Colligan has succeeded Benedetti, as EVP, CFP, and secretary. Colligan joins Dynex after serving as the CFO at Chimera Investment Corp.

Piedmont Office Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE:PDM) announced the appointment of Venkatesh (“Tesh”) Durvasula, as a member of the board. Durvasula will serve as an independent director and as a member of the capital committee. He is currently the CEO and a member of the board of directors of Africa Data Centres, having previously served as CEO and president of CyrusOne.

Rexford Industrial Realty, Inc. (NYSE: REXR) announced the promotion of Patrick Schlehuber to chief investment officer. He joined Rexford in 2009, leading the REIT’s acquisitions team.

The American Hotel & Lodging Foundation (AHLAF) announced that Leslie Hale, president and CEO of RLJ Lodging Trust (NYSE: RLJ) and vice chair of the AHLA board of directors, has been named the recipient of the third annual Castell Award honoring a female trailblazer in the hospitality investment arena.

Simon Property Group (NYSE: SPG) said Donald Frey has been promoted to serve as EVP and treasurer. Frey has been with Simon for approximately 12 years, most recently as the company’s SVP and assistant treasurer. In addition, Matt Jackson has been promoted to SVP and assistant treasurer. Jackson has been with Simon for approximately four years, as the company’s VP of treasury & capital markets.

Ventas, Inc. (NYSE: VTR) has appointed Pamela Boneham as a senior strategic advisor to its Ventas Investment Management (VIM) Platform. Boneham currently serves as an independent investment committee member for CBRE Investment Management’s Americas Direct Real Estate Investment Committee and for City of Hope, a non-profit cancer care hospital headquartered in Southern California.
